Back to Basics: the 3 fundamentals that everyone always forget about New Year Resolutions

2020 had been a year like no other. While we might have gone through several ups and downs throughout the past several months, another year full of opportunities and blessings await for us to make life look better than ever before. With just a few days into 2021, one may say its time to create a new set of resolutions. Now that 2020 is gone for good, setting yourself to become a better version of yourself is one influential way to start off the new year right. "How could you possibly do that?", one may ask. Simple: by creating resolutions! By creating resolutions, you "[a]llow [yourself] to commit to continue good practices, modify an undesired trait/behavior, reach personal goals, and to generally strengthen [your own] way of living" (Wikipedia).

While creating resolutions is indeed positive, creating them, and most importantly, keeping up with them, may not be so easy as it may seem. The reason behind this is that we tend to ignore the fundamentals about these resolutions. Below are 3. Please do give them a read, and don't forget to subscribe to my blog, like, comment, and share!

1. Your Resolutions don't have to be "Year Long Ones"

Some of you may presume that New Year Resolutions are to be "Year Long Ones". I don't intend to stop any of you from making any for yourself, even if that's not entirely true. Just bear in mind that no matter what your resolutions may look like, never be so harsh on yourself about them. After all, New Year Resolutions are a new set of basic goals that one intends to fulfill throughout the months to come, one goal at a time.

2. Your Resolutions require some sort of Motivation

I'm sure it's not too difficult to establish a new set of resolutions. But as we build them, I'm sure we all don't look ahead to what methods we plan on utilizing to inspire ourselves to keep up with our goals. That sounds pressuring indeed, but the results are endlessly optimistic! But how can we remain dedicated and, most importantly, inspired to perform certain tasks?

    A. Establish a sense of interest in the goals you plan to execute.

    B. Be passionate about the goals you sought to complete.

    C. Make sure your goals inspire you.

    D. Take breaks when you need them the most.

    E. Reward yourself!

3. Create Goals that Speak for You!

Surely, getting input from your family, friends, and peers on what goals you plan to stick to throughout the year is fantastic! While the feedback you will receive will enable you to strengthen the objectives you have already set out, there can be times where such feedback may disrupt what you intend to achieve. Remember to set targets that speak for you.

With all that said, I hope you all create great resolutions for yourself and keep up with them at the best of your abilities. Best of luck, and  Happy New Year 2021! ðŸŽ‰
