the very essence of humanity

Human rights are characterized as a collection of basic human rights and fundamental freedoms which, despite race, class, sex, ethnicity, and nationality, are entitled to every human being. These rights shield us from immorality and are protected by both municipal and international law from the day we are born until the day we breath our last.⁣
Human right violations on the other hand can be defined as a form of failure caused by a country or a state to ensure the protection of our basic human rights and fundamental freedoms. These also include the failure to avoid violations committed by private individuals (i.e. domestic violence).⁣
With us living in 2021, it is quite alarming for someone like me to notice the numerous violations of human rights taking place around the world today. Some of these breaches, as you all may already know about, exist in the following events listed below:⁣
The BLM Movement:⁣
The BLM Movement is classified as both a political and social movement that strives to put an end to police brutality, hatred, and racial discrimination intended towards the Black communities around the world.⁣
The SriLankan Genocide:⁣
The SriLankan Genocide, also referred to as the Tamil Genocide, was a crime committed by Sinhalese authorities with the purpose of systematically killing large numbers of Tamils to erase the entire Tamil population of Srilanka.⁣ Although the SriLankan civil war is said to have ended on May 18, 2009, Tamils around the world are still pursuing justice today.
The Farmers Protests:⁣
The ongoing Farmers Protests in India concern three Farm Bills that were implemented by the Indian government last year. Farmers unions and representatives have been protesting hard to date for the repeal of these laws.⁣
Uighur Muslims in China:⁣
The Uighur Muslim community is referred to as a minority group in China. The Chinese government has been working its way to suppress Uighur Muslims in their country by all means to date.
By acknowledging some of the human right violations around the world, my goal is to highlight one underlying fact which is that in many communities of colour, we are struggling for justice - to be accepted for who and what we are despite of colour, background, and culture. It's an ongoing struggle indeed, and it's upto each and every one of us to raise our voices, tell our stories, and simply continue to fight to put a stop to the violation of our human rights. When we do so, we will certainly reach a proper end result once and for all.⁣
I hope this message inspires you by all means. I'd appreciate it if you could follow, subscribe, and comment on my blog to show your support. Human right violations need to end so that we could all live in a world full of peace and harmony. And for that to happen, you must be willing to do your part. Let yourself do that by starting today.⁣
