Powerful Influences: International Women's Day

International Women's Day, marked annually on March 08, is a day dedicated to honoring all women around the world for what they do, and what they strive to accomplish day in and day out. This day is also observed as a day to celebrate the social, political, economic, and cultural contributions of women, a day used to raise the importance of women's equality, and a day used to advocate accelerating gender parity around the world.

Once upon a time, the gender divisions established by society had women confined to their homes, while men were the only people able to leave their homes to work. Today, women across the globe thrive to stand equal to their male counterparts by stepping out of their homes, establishing careers of their own, and becoming successful. These achievements are to celebrated year round, not just once a year.

On behalf of International Women's Day, I've chosen to focus on eight women who have contributed significantly to the world in which we live in. I hope you enjoy this post, and don't forget to subscribe and share my blog!
